Tank Supplies

They’re many important aspects to an Oil Tank. The following information could help you determine if your oil tank is in good condition. You will also find the newest options that are available to help extend the life of your Oil Tank.

A Yearly Inspection of Your Tank Is A Necessity!

Please be advised all oil storage tanks should be inspected by the homeowner’s, periodically, to assure the tank is in serviceable condition. If deterioration or leaks are observed (or if you plan on remodeling or relocating the tank), please contact our office immediately. If you are thinking about upgrading or replacing your tank, please call our office. We offer free estimates, flexible payment plans, financing upon request. Apgar Oil Company also does tank cleaning and oil tank painting and installation of Remote Fuel Oil Indicators, Tank Mates and Tank Trays.

Why Should I Have My Heating System Cleaned Yearly?

Throughout the heating season, small amounts of carbon collect on the heat exchanger walls of your boiler or furnace. Carbon insulates these surfaces, preventing proper transfer of heat, resulting in “useful heat” lost up the chimney.

Tune-Up Facts:

  • 1/8” thick carbon deposit can reduce heat absorption by over 10%. A clean efficient boiler or furnace will absorb the maximum amount of heat produced by the oil burner flame, lowering the temperature of the gases leaving the boiler, increasing the efficiency of your heating system.
  • If your heating system was put in a car, it would travel approximately 50,000 miles annually. Whether your system is tuned-up in March or November has little impact on its readiness for winter.
  • 10% savings on your annual fuel consumption practically pays for the tune-up.
  • Even though your heating system is properly designed and installed, it’s impossible to secure maximum efficiency due to carbon build-up.
  • A fully qualified oil heat service technician trained through the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association has the ability to accurately determine how efficiently your unit is running and has the knowledge to make necessary adjustments to improve the performance of your heating system.
  • The average life span of an indoor heating tank is 25-35 years. Is it time to upgrade to a new tank?
