Hot Water Heater Information

The average family spends between $400 and $700 per year or more for hot water with a standard Electric Water Heater.

Your family uses a lot of hot water and you need a water heating system that delivers. The last thing you want to worry about is your hot water heater. What you need is an oil-fired system that can achieve a new standard in high efficiency and trouble-free operation. The "Oil burner" is the key element in high efficiency water heaters. They are specifically engineered for high volume, rapid recovery and reliable performance. It all adds up to a lot more hot water with less cost and bother to you.

Domestic Hot Water Tankless - Coil System

  • "Trombone" Design Copper Hot Water Coil:
Is an EFM - designed exclusive that delivers domestic hot water at the abundant rate of 5 gallons per minute (SPK, PK models) 7 gallons per minute (K models).
  • Turbo-Ram Turbulators: They are located in the upper pass of the boiler tubes, force more heat against tube walls for unsurpassed heat transfer efficiency. These Turbulators were designed by EFM and are found exclusively in their boilers.
  • Multiple-Pass Serpentine:
This design puts more heating power in contact with water, providing faster, less expensive heating.
  • Boiler Shell:
This is constructed of heavy 1/4" American steel and welded by our own craftsmen for longer life.
  • U-Turn Heads:
These are molded with Ceraform to provide excellent insulating and interior heat-retention qualities. Minimizes heat loss.
  • Combustion Chamber:
This EFM design is molded with Ceraform for superb heat flow and heat retention.

Oil Fired Hot Water Heating

The Technical Facts & Figures About Hot Water Heating:

The above examples are generalizations subject to change depending upon customers demand and the make/model of your unit. With oil - the cost to heat hot water for the year is $125 to $250! Remember - The average family spends between $400 and $700 per year or more for hot water with a standard Electric Water Heater.

Advantages:

  • Abundant Supply: 125 to 300 gallons of hot water per hour.
  • Quick Recovery: 3 to 4 times faster than Electric.
  • Saves Energy Dollars: 3 to 4 times more economical than Electric.
  • Low Stand-By Heat Loss: Less than 2% per hour (Phase III models).
  • Efficiency: Steady state combustion efficiency up to 81%.

Indirect Hot Water Storage Tank

The indirect hot water storage tanks exclusive design allows for the continuous production of domestic hot water without the use of a coil. Hot water from any boiler is circulated around a corrugated stainless steel tank for safe, efficient hot water at the lowest possible operating costs.
h2. SUPERIOR DESIGN " TANK - IN -TANK" TECHNOLOGY:

When combined with any boiler, the Phase III series indirect water heaters provide the most efficient hot water heating systems available today. Phase III's advanced technological design features two concentric tanks: an inner tank, constructed of 100% high quality stainless steel, contains domestic water and an outer tank, constructed of durable carbon steel, contains boiler water. Water in the inner tank is heated indirectly by circulating hot water in the outer tank from the boiler.

The unique surrounding heat exchanger provides a much more even distribution of heat as compared to a coil type heat exchanger.

Indirect water heaters with coils are more susceptible to isolated cold spots in the domestic hot water tank which can lead to bacteria growth. Coil heat exchangers are also more susceptible to liming.

These conditions do not exist with the "Tank - In - Tank" design.
